AFCNA does not require training through any specific educational provider to fulfill Lecture and Hands-on Foot Care Training requirements. The programs listed represent a partial compilation of available educational opportunities and are provided for informational purposes only.
Lecture-based coursework must award Continuing Education credits through a recognized accrediting body. Hands-on clinical training may be completed with any qualified proctor who meets appropriate professional and competency standards.

PEDEd Nursing Foot Care Course
The PEDEd Nursing Foot Care Course is a comprehensive 110-hour online theory program designed to prepare licensed nurses to expand their practice into professional foot care. The curriculum provides in-depth education in lower limb assessment, risk identification, infection prevention, and evidence-informed nursing interventions.

Rainier Medical
Rainier Medical Education offers comprehensive foot care training, blending advanced clinical education with high-quality tools to empower nurses. Led by Dr. Julia Overstreet, hands-on classes are limited to four students for personalized instruction. Courses cover foot and nail care, wound and diabetic foot management, and debridement, and count toward WOCN and AFCNA certification requirements. Customized in-facility training is also available
Foot and Nail Certification
This self-paced course is for healthcare providers seeking Foot and Nail specialty certification. It includes no instructor feedback or clinical component. Students may pursue CFCN (WOCNCB) or CFCS (AFCNA) certification and are responsible for their own clinical hours.
AOFAS Complete Foot Care Course
The AOFAS Complete Foot Care Course offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary foot and ankle education for healthcare professionals on the orthopaedic team. The program will expand your clinical competence and enhance your patient care in managing foot and ankle conditions, including trauma, sports injuries, forefoot problems, arthritis, and diabetes. Breakout sessions each day will provide a deep dive into clinically relevant topics, such as orthotics/bracing, ultrasound injections, the physical examination, wound care, and more.
Foot Care Teaching and Learning
As a nurse, a nurse practitioner or other health care provider have you ever wanted to learn how to do foot care? FootCare by Nurses offers a number of opportunities, including how to use high-speed burrs.
Our board-certified nurses precept for both the WOCN’s CFCN and the AAFCN’s CFCS exam and we can provide both business consulting and real, hands on, foot care practice.

Practicum for Foot and Nail Course
This is an independent, self-study course geared toward healthcare providers looking to certify in the Foot and Nail specialty. There is no instructor feedback nor participation. There is no clinical component.
Credentialing options include Certified Foot and Nail Care Nurse (CFCN) through the WOCNCB and Certified Foot Care Specialist (CFCS) exam through the American Foot Care Nurses Association. Clinical hours are the responsibility of the student.
Foot & Nail Care Education & Clinical
The University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire Continuing Education offers a hybrid Foot & Nail Care program designed to equip nurses and healthcare professionals with comprehensive foot and nail care skills. The course combines three months of online instruction—covering lower extremity assessment, diabetic foot care, and nail care/debridement—with a five-day in-person clinical experience. Participants earn 73 contact hours (33 online, 40 clinical) that may count toward certification, and the program is open to RNs and eligible licensed healthcare providers.
Foot Care Specialist Courses

Courses are available in bundles or individually, offering contact hours that may count toward WOCNCB certification requirements. Foot Care Training Program
The Foot Care Nurse Training program in Hampden, Maine is an intensive 5-day, hands-on clinical course for nurses seeking practical experience in medically based foot care.
